Why did you become a PGA of Canada Professional?
Like many Professionals, I grew up playing golf as a junior and wanted to continue to be around the game.
What is the most rewarding part about being a member of the PGA of BC?
Meeting many different people who have a similar passion for golf.
At which golf facility did you first begin working within the industry, and who was the PGA Professional?
Began working at Fraserview Golf Course under Earl Francis in 2004.
Who has influenced your career the most, and how?
When I received an opportunity to work at Pitt Meadows GC under Neil Roberts. Neil was a true professional and was fortunate to work under him for 11 years learning what professional service to members and guests.
What career path led you to where you are today?
I completed my Business Degree at BCIT and received Class A status with the PGA while working at Pitt Meadows GC. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to become Head Professional after 11 years as Assistant.
Which significant accomplishments are you most proud of?
Being appointed Head Professional at Pitt Meadows Golf Club in 2017.
If you had to share one piece of advice with a new member of our Association, what would it be?
When interacting with clients, members or customers, remember that you are a Professional and are held to a higher standard and expectations are for you to be professional.
What is your most cherished golf memory?
Playing Pebble Beach with my dad and brother.
What is your favourite golf course in British Columbia, and why?
Fraserview Golf Course, because I started working there and it is a lot of fun to play.
What is a common misconception that golfers make about what your job entails?
There is a lot that goes into the operation of a golf course, it's not just about tee times or playing golf.
What is an interesting fact about yourself that doesn't involve golf?
I have two daughters, Leah (6) and Maya (3) and they keep things entertaining at home. I also still enjoy playing ice hockey in the off season.
