Seymour Creek's Bryn Parry blistered the Willows Golf & Country Club during the opening round of the PGA of Canada Assistant's Championship, carding a course record 10-under 62, which included an opening 30 for his first nine holes.
Despite swirling Saskatoon winds that were more than 30 km/h at times, Parry rained birdies on the course and was the early first-round leader in the 54-hole tournament that runs until Thursday.
Parry's score also helps the PGA of BC Inter-Zone team, which also consists of Summerland's Greg Machtaler, Olympic View's Gordy Scutt and Two Eagles' Ethan Danish.
Other great B.C. performances were put up by Shaughnessy's Lindsay Bernakevitch, who shot a 5-under 67 and Northview's Kyle German and Chilliwack's Brad Clapp, who each shot 3-under rounds of 69.
