The PGA of British Columbia is saddened to learn of the passing of Life Professional Cec Ferguson.
The longtime PGA of Canada member passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 2, surrounded by family members. He was 67.
A playing representative for Canada as an amateur and a successful tour player through the 1970s, Ferguson would later spend several decades in club managment, working as the Head Professional and General Manager at clubs in Saskatchewan and BC, including Quilchena Golf & Country Club, Myrtle Point Golf Club and Vernon Golf & Country Club.
Ferguson won the PGA Club Professional Championship of Canada in 1986 at the Prince George Golf & Curling Club. He was also a three-time winner in the PGA of BC Championship (1976, 1977, 1985) and the PGA of BC Senior's Champion in 2008. Ferguson was inducted into the Golf Hall of Fame of BC in 2011.
In his later years, Ferguson moved into a career as a coach driver for International Stage Lines. He was diagnosed with cancer last summer but recently celebrated his 67th birthday with extended family and spent the past several months visiting with old friends.
