RICHMOND, BC (PGA of BC) - The PGA of BC is pleased to announce its 2024 championship schedule. The Association is excited to welcome competitors to our wide range of tournaments held in a variety of regions across the province.
Making its return to the Association's competitive slate, the season opens at Riverway Golf Course for the Sponsor-Media Appreciation Invitational. Being re-introduced as a Pro-Am, this event will see Association sponsors and media partners team up with PGA of BC professionals; invitations for pro spots will be generated from the 2023 PDP standings.
The Lower Mainland will also play host to our Seniors' & Women's Championships at Nicklaus North Golf Course and the PGA of BC Championship at Morgan Creek Golf Course. The Seniors' Championship is undergoing a change as it will no longer be combined with the Assistants' Championship. Instead, the Seniors' & Women's Championships will be joined to accommodate a larger field of Seniors and Women competitors.
Vancouver Island will see the Tournament of Champions take place at Highland Pacific Golf, as well as the Club Professional Championship at Nanaimo Golf Club. The Pro-Assistant Championship makes its return to the Kootenays at Copper Point Golf Club, while the Assistants' Championship, heading to the Okanagan, will be played at Nk'Mip Canyon Desert Golf Course, as its own standalone competition. This will allow the field to expand from 72 to 99 participants, offering more Assistant Professionals the opportunity to compete.
2023 saw the Pro-Junior Championship evolve into a regional series, which proved to be very successful, having seen our largest fields to date. The event will return to four regional host locations in July.
Following the success of the 2023 championship season, the PGA of BC is excited to continue to evolve its tournament offerings, by increasing purse levels, investing in other programming and F&B experience, and by obtaining tournament commitments more in advance.
