Why did you become a PGA of Canada Professional?
My main drive in becoming a PGA of Canada Professional is to have to chance to positively impact a persons life through the lessons that golf offers.

What is the most rewarding part about being a member of the PGA of BC?
Being a part of a great team here at Shaughnessy. As well as creating and maintaining relationships within the industry.

At which golf facility did you first begin working within the industry, and who was the PGA Professional?
I spent three season at Gorge Vale GC working under Jim Cook, Edd Boudreau, and Aaron Grice.

Who has influenced your career the most, and how?
Sean Richardson was instrumental in my process in becoming a professional. Many of his lessons and words will stick with me for life. I'll always be grateful I had a chance to learn from him.

What career path led you to where you are today?
From Gorge Vale I went on to work as a greens keeper for three years. Towards the end of that third year I realized that I could have a greater impact, and a more fulfilling career as a professional.

Which significant accomplishments are you most proud of?
I am really proud to have (hopefully) played a small role in the development and growth of some of the students I have had the privilege of working with over the past two years at Shaughnessy.

If you had to share one piece of advice with a new member of our Association, what would it be?
Try to learn something from everyone your encounter. Every professional has strengths and weaknesses, but there is something to be gained by trying to learn from everyone.

What is your most cherished golf memory?
It's tough to say. My most recent cherished memory is driving down the coast with my two co-workers (and great friends) Zach Pichor and Bryan Lichimo. We played 6 rounds in 7 days with the highlight definitely getting to play the Olympic Club in San Francisco.

What is your favourite golf course in British Columbia, and why?
Probably the Predator Course at Predator Ridge. It is where I started playing when I was ten years old. I'm always overcome with nostalgia when the course comes into view.

What is a common misconception that golfers make about what your job entails?
Probably that all professionals are professional golfers. Most of us do our best to keep our games sharp, but it is a tricky balancing act.

What is an interesting fact about yourself that doesn't involve golf?
I love endurance training. Last fall I completed two Ironman 70.3 races, and am currently preparing to run the Vancouver Marathon with the goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon.
