Brady Stead - Using a Junior Golf Funnel to Develop Talent and Ensure Long-Term Club Success

Brady Stead is an accomplished golf instructor with a wealth of experience, having taught at the Royal Colwood Golf Club and Olympic View before joining the Ledgeview Golf Club in 2021.
Brady’s dedication to the sport has earned him numerous accolades, including the 2024 PGA of BC Jack McLaughlin Junior Golf Leader of the Year Award and the 2023 PGA of BC Community Leadership Bursary Award. His expertise has not only helped students develop their skills, but also achieve significant success on the course. Brady reached 1685th in the Official World Golf Rankings and led the Camosun Chargers Men’s Golf Team to a Collegiate National Championship in 2015.
With a deep passion for coaching, he has also served as the Assistant Coach of the Camosun College Chargers Men's Golf Team and currently leads the Bateman Secondary Golf Academy as Head Coach. In 2024, he helped guide the Zone 3 Team in the BC Summer Games to secure both Gold and Bronze Medals.
Brady is committed to nurturing talent and fostering a love for the game, making a lasting impact on golfers at all levels.

Stephanie Vanderpas is the Director of Instruction at Point Grey Golf & Country Club, where she dedicates her expertise to helping golfers improve and thrive. Her outstanding commitment to junior golf development was recognized in 2021 when she received the prestigious Jack McLaughlin PGA of BC Junior Leader of the Year Award.
In 2024, Stephanie was named the coach for the British Columbia Junior Girls America Cup Team by the Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA), further showcasing her dedication to nurturing young talent.
As an instructor, mentor, competitor, and leader, Stephanie’s diverse contributions have made a lasting impact on the golf community in British Columbia and beyond.

Padraic O'Rourke

Current Director of Golf at Marine Drive Golf Club. After a decade as the Director of Golf at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club.
PGA of British Columbia 2024 Golf Shop of the year, 2021 Executive Professional of the and year and 2020 Golf Professional of the Year with eighteen years rounded international experience including two seasons at the historic Pine Valley Golf Club.
Proven ability to evolve and lead the entire golf operations and consistently exceed diverse member’s expectations. Enthusiastic and engaging Senior Leader with a proven business acumen coupled with a true golfing passion for club golf.
I fell in love with golf growing up in Ireland and since then have led and represented some premier, historic clubs through a warm and welcoming yet progressive, professional and enthusiastic attitude.
Ryan Tofani

a Class "A" Head Professional at Sandpiper Golf Club, located in the scenic community of Harrison Mills, BC. With a lifelong passion for golf, Ryan has built a career dedicated to both the sport and the community that surrounds it.
His journey in the golf industry began at Wolf Creek Golf Resort in Ponoka, Alberta, where he started in the back shop under the mentorship of Mr. Jay Anderson, whom he credits as one of the best professionals he’s worked with. Ryan’s career path has since taken him to several prominent clubs, including Heritage Pointe Golf Club, River Spirit Golf Club, and Cottonwood G&CC, where he held his first Head Professional role. He later moved to British Columbia, joining Chilliwack Golf Club and most recently Sandpiper Resort, which he describes as an amazing property.
Ryan’s dedication to the sport has deep roots, inspired by his father, with whom he began golfing at the age of five. His most cherished golf memory is meeting the legendary Arnold Palmer as a teenager — an unforgettable experience for any golf enthusiast.
For those entering the golf industry, Ryan’s advice is clear: “Stick with it. It takes hard work, dedication, and time to reach the Head Professional level. Be open to learning something new every day.”
Wes Doka

Born and raised in the Lower Mainland, Wes got his start in golf at Hazelmere Golf Club as a Junior member. In 2004 Wes began his golf professional career at Fraserview Golf Course in Vancouver. Following 3yrs as Assistant Professional at Fraserview he joined the team at Pitt Meadows Golf Club and in 2013 achieved Class ‘A’ status with the PGA of Canada. In 2017 he was appointed Head Golf Professional at the Pitt Meadows Golf Club.
Ashley Zibrik

Ashley was named the 42nd President of the PGA of BC, the first woman to serve in that role in the 84-year history of the Association. A product of Squamish, BC, she found her way to Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club after a successful college career at Boise State University. Named the Director of Golf in 2019 – the first woman in the club’s 112-year history - Zibrik is a decorated professional with numerous recognitions, including the 2022 Pat Fletcher Retailer of the Year from the PGA of Canada among her 3 national awards. She is a 3-time winner of the PGA of BC’s Women’s Championship. A true leader for all professionals in the industry.
