Standings Update: Replay Golf Supplies Community Engagement Program

September 24, 2024

RICHMOND, BC (PGA of BC) - The race atop the Replay Golf Supplies Community Engagement Program leaderboard is heating up, with Ryan Tofani (Chilliwack Golf Club) maintaining his position as the leader.

Tofani has demonstrated great dedication to his Club, community and Association through his participation in various PGA of BC initiatives, volunteerism and positive promotion of the Association through social media. Tofani has accumulated 31 CEP points thus far, and will look to persist as leader through the end of the season. However, making a push to overtake Tofani is Derek Orr (Iron & Wood Golf Simulators). Orr has earned 28 points this season and sits within striking distance of Tofani. Dylan Nickel (Chilliwack Golf Club) rounds out the top-three having earned 21 points, while Cindy Soukoroff (St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino) is currently in fourth place with 20 points.

New this year, the Replay Golf Supplies Community Engagement Program recognizes outstanding professionals who prioritize community involvement, public volunteerism and charitable efforts. This initiative rewards active involvement in key community events like the Golfathon for ALS, Canucks Junior Golf Week, and Women's Golf Week, with points awarded for promoting, participating in, and fundraising for these and other community initiatives. Crucially, the program places a strong emphasis on the use of social media as a powerful tool for professionals to positively promote the PGA of BC, including educational events and tournaments. This strategy aims to increase the Association's visibility and accessibility, making it more public-facing and enhancing reputation and brand growth.

Information on the Community Engagement Program, including a detailed breakdown of points allocation, is available HERE. We strongly encourage members to familiarize themselves with this information. Information on Social Media Best Practices for points accumulation is available HERE. To request points, please fill out the Community Engagement Program Points Requisition Form.

Social media engagement and promotion of the Association and its initiatives, events and tournaments is a key driver of points accumulation. We kindly request that you make sure to tag the Association’s social media account in all posts, as well as include the relevant hashtags outlined in the Social Media Best Practices package (available at the Social Media Best Practices link above), such as #PGABCplays and #PGABCcares. This will ensure that we can track each post. For those members whose Instagram accounts are private, we advise you that Instagram restricts our ability to track each of your posts through a hashtag search. For the purposes of the Community Engagement Program, we recommend setting your account privacy settings to Public, but understand if this is not possible.

Coverage of our members in traditional media such as newspapers and on television also contributes to the accumulation of Community Engagement Program points. If you have been featured in traditional media for PGA of BC-relevant purposes, such as participation in an initiative or a tournament, please fill out the Points Requisition Form with supporting documentation.

Finally, non-golf industry volunteerism and fundraising can also count towards your point totals. Please ensure you fill out the Points Requisition Form with details of your volunteerism and/or fundraising for those points to be awarded.

As this program is newly introduced, we understand that you may have earned points that are not yet tallied in the official standings. If you believe you have earned points that have not been added to the standings, please ensure you fill out the Points Requisition Form with all supporting documentation. For all questions and concerns, please reach out to Communications & Marketing Manager Graham Abraham at graham@pgabc.org.

The PGA of BC extends our gratitude to Replay Golf Supplies and owner Lee Burgham for their generous support of the Community Engagement Program. We encourage professionals to reach out to Burgham at ogb@axion.net for all your recycled golf ball needs.
