RICHMOND, BC (PGA of BC) - With the return of the Association’s Women’s Golf Week, taking place later this month, the PGA of BC is thrilled to welcome adidas Golf Canada as the presenting sponsor of this great initiative. With adidas Golf Canada’s support, we look forward to growing the program and further highlighting the women professionals who serve as role models and inspire golfers at their clubs and in their communities.
Women’s Golf Week is an annual initiative running May 28 to June 4, 2024 to engage, empower and support women and girls in golf, leading to a culmination with International Women's Golf Day on June 4. Facilities and professionals are encouraged to register for Women’s Golf Day and support the established network of facilities participating around the globe. Facilities throughout BC will be hosting events to celebrate the PGA of BC's women professionals and to encourage women’s participation, inclusion and visibility.
The PGA of BC will share feature interviews with female professionals who are helping drive the passion of golf forward and shaping the future of the sport. In addition, we will be on-site filming and taking photos at several Women’s Golf Week events throughout the province. Stay tuned for the features and subscribe to our YouTube channel and follow us on social media for content from a variety of exciting events around the province.
Jeffrey Feltrin, General Manager, adidas Golf Canada, said the company is proud to align with the Association on this initiative and promote women’s participation and excellence in golf.
“We are so pleased to join in this partnership with the PGA BC. One of adidas Golf Canada’s highlighted strategies is to connect with the female golfer in a more meaningful and inclusive way,” said Feltrin. “This partnership will allow our brand stories, beliefs and products to be highlighted and featured for the participating players and professionals.”
Mark Strong, Executive Director of the PGA of BC, expressed the Association's enthusiasm for this partnership and anticipation of a highly successful initiative.
“Being able to partner with a prominent brand in adidas, whose reach obviously extends well beyond the golf industry, feels like a great fit for such an important initiative as Women's Golf Week," said Strong. "The company's philosophy of 'creating a level playing field for everyone' lands perfectly beside our Association's own Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion initiatives, and having more women in leadership positions aligns with the goals of Women's Golf Week; to not only encourage women's participation in the sport, but also to recognize those already making significant contributions."
The PGA of BC is thrilled to announce the return of our bursary draw program as part of this year’s Women’s Golf Week initiative. Thanks to the outstanding support of adidas Golf Canada, the Association will be awarding four bursaries in the amount of $750 each to facilities in the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Interior, and Kootenays & North regions.
The PGA of BC Office Team will conduct a live bursary draw on the Association’s Instagram page at 12:00pm PT today. Members are encouraged to tune in and to also reach out to thank adidas Golf Canada for their support.
