Northview Golf & Country Club’s Matt Palsenbarg is the new leader in the 2013 PGA of BC Professional Development Program Order of Merit.
The standings, which are updated as of Sept. 1, see Palsenbarg pull ahead of July leader Dave Zibrik of Seymour Creek, on the strength of educational credits gained. Palsenbarg also earned points for nominating people for the PGA of BC Awards and for playing in the PGA of BC Championship.
Palsenbarg, who has 67 points, is 12 points ahead of Zibrik, who also had a strong summer which included playing in the PGA of BC Championship and nominating people for awards. Zibrik, at 55 points, is only one point ahead of Kelowna Golf & Country Club’s Rob Anderson, who has 54 points and is two ahead of Bear Mountain’s John Randle, who sits at 52 points.
Rounding out the Top 6 is Capilano Golf & Country Club’s Cory Draper, who sits at 51 points and Jamie Stevens, in sixth at 50 points.
As an added incentive beyond recognition, the top six point earners at the end of the calendar year will be rewarded with cash bursaries ranging from $250 for sixth place, all the way to $2,000 for first place.
Another great opportunity for PGA of BC members to earn points for the PDP Order of Merit comes at next month’s PGA of BC Trade Show.
For attending both days of this year's Trade Show, October 16-17 at the Richmond Olympic Oval, PGA of BC members will receive a one-time bonus of four (4) PDP Points for 2013. The total number of available points for attending the show is 10, which has the potential to rise up to 155 places in the Order of Merit standings.
