Why did you become a PGA of Canada Professional?
I grew playing competitive junior golf as well as NCAA. I have always loved the game and loved being around the course. Numerous PGA professionals helped me out as a junior golfer, and I always looked up to those guys.

What is the most rewarding part about being a member of the PGA of BC?
For me it is the camaraderie and friendships with fellow PGA professionals. Many of my closest friends I met through our industry, and I am very thankful for that.

At which golf facility did you first begin working within the industry, and who was the PGA Professional?
Cordova Bay Golf Course with Lance Mccullough
.

Who has influenced your career the most, and how?

Lance McCullough, Eddie Boudreau, Jeff Palmer, Mark Bicknell and Warren Reeves, to name a few. I learned a lot from all of them; how to treat members and guests, how to take pride in your facility and our profession.

What career path led you to where you are today?
Not being scared to leave a place you love to work elsewhere for a new, better opportunity.

Which significant accomplishments are you most proud of?
Winning the 2012 Vancouver Island Pro Tour Order of Merit was a nice accomplishment for me playing wise. Earning my Class A status 6-7 years ago was also an accomplishment I am proud of.

If you had to share one piece of advice with a new member of our Association, what would it be?
Do everything you can and soak it all up. Play pro events, go to seminars, go to education series, go to the buying show etc. Meet as many fellow professionals as you can and learn as much as you can from each of them.

What is your most cherished golf memory?
Making my first hole in one at age 12 playing with my older brother. Hole #7 at what used to be Thunderbird, now Royal Ashburn.

What is your favourite golf course in British Columbia, and why?
Vancouver Golf Club. It reminds me of the courses I grew up on in Southern Ontario.

What is a common misconception that golfers make about what your job entails?
That we play golf every single day!

What is an interesting fact about yourself that doesn't involve golf?
I have 4 boys aged 12 and under and spend about 20 hours a week in a hockey arena.
