We are pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2014 PGA of BC Awards program.

Several changes have been made to this year's Awards program, including the opportunity for members to vote in the selection process. Also new in 2014 is the introduction of Media Personnel of the Year Award, which will be selected by the PGA of BC Administration and Board of Directors. 

Awards will be presented in the following categories:

• Golf Professional of the Year
• Apprentice Professional of the Year
• Golf Facility of the Year
• Teacher of the Year
• Golf Shop of the Year
• Junior Golf Leader of the Year
• Sales Representative of the Year
• Coach of the Year
• Professional Development Award

Nominations for all awards will close Friday August 22nd at 4:00 PM PST.

Four other awards are determined by the PGA of BC Administration and Board of Directors:

• Player of the Year 
• Patron of the Year
• Member of the Year
• Media Personnel of the Year 

As in previous years, the BC Zone will be defined by four geographic regions:

• Lower Mainland
• Vancouver Island
• Interior
• Kootenays/North    

Regional Nominating Committees will consider all nominations in each category and select a Regional Finalist in each.

The names of the Finalists, along with supporting information, will be forwarded to a Final Selection Panel consisting of previous award winners. The Panel's vote, along with a formulated calculation with the membership's votes will determine the recipient in each category.  

These recipients (with the exception for Golf Facility of the Year, Sales Representative of the Year, Patron of the Year, Member of the Year, and Media Personnel of the Year) will be British Columbia's nominee submitted for the corresponding PGA of Canada National Award.
