COBBLE HILL, BC (PGA of British Columbia) – Kelowna Golf & Country Club's Joel Aitken was the lone applicant who was able to tame difficult conditions and achieve the Playing Ability Test (PAT) target standards at Arbutus Ridge Golf Club.
Thursday’s PAT had 14 male & female participants attempting to shoot at or below a predetermined score relative to course rating based upon their age, which is a requirement for non-exempt applicants to become a PGA of Canada Professional.
Target scores for male applicants at Arbutus Ridge were 80 for those aged 49 and younger, and 82 for the lone participant aged 50-plus. Females contested to achieve pass scores of 83 (49 and younger) and 85 (50-plus). Please click here to view scores from this event.
By demonstrating his high standard of skill over 18 holes, Aitken took an important step toward achieving membership as an Apprentice Professional within the PGA of Canada.
There is one more PGA of BC-administered PATs scheduled for 2022, taking place September 13th at Belmont Golf Course in Langley, BC.
Current and prospective applicants may visit www.pgaofcanada.com/join for full details on how to become a member of the PGA of Canada, or to find information and registration links for upcoming PATs.
