TSAWWASSEN, BC (PGA of British Columbia) - The PGA of BC is extremely proud to announce Ashley Zibrik as the Association’s 42nd President and first woman to ever serve in the role.

Zibrik, Head Professional at Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club, has served the PGA of BC and its Board for six years as a Director, Vice President of Finance and Vice President of Administration, roles in which she displayed selfless leadership and helped strengthen the culture of the Board.

Zibrik was sworn in as President yesterday evening during the PGA of BC Annual General Meeting, following the first day of the 2023 Spring Education Seminar. Zibrik assumes the role from past President Adam Blair, Executive Professional at Vernon Golf & Country Club.

Zibrik said she was grateful to be chosen by her colleagues as President of the Association.

“I am honoured to be the 42nd President and first female President of the PGA of BC. I’m really looking forward to working with a group of individuals that are keen and passionate about giving back to our members, making the Association the best it possibly can be.”

The Board will continue to build on and improve the experience for Golf Professionals in the province this upcoming year, said Zibrik

“We’re looking for creative new ideas, new initiatives. We really want to put our minds to work and see what we can elevate for our Members.”

Past President Blair has full confidence in Zibrik.

“She’s a juggernaut in this industry. She’s going to take our Association to new heights I can't even imagine,” said Blair.

PGA of BC Interim Executive Director Jared Siminoff said that it is exciting for the Association to have its first ever female President, and that Zibrik is a perfect role model for women’s golf in BC.

“The PGA of BC team is very excited to work alongside Ashley. She is a leader at her club and in our Association and is a trailblazer for women in our industry.”
