Seymour Creek Golf Centre's Dave Zibrik moved from third to first in December and won the 2013 PGA of BC PDP title by one point over Matt Palsenbarg of Northview Golf & Country Club.

Zibrik started the month with 96 points, three behind Palsenbarg and two behind Gleneagles Golf Course's James Presnail but by earning two education points and four volunteerism points, he vaulted above both Palsenbarg and Presnail to win the $2,000 first place money.

Zibrik had the early PDP lead through July, only to see Palsenbarg move ahead through the autumn months before Zibrik nipped him at the end.

Palsenbarg doesn't go home empty-handed, as he wins $1,500 for second place and Presnail takes home $1,000 for third place.

Making the biggest move in the final month was The Golf Institute at Fraserview's Derek Thornley, who earned 18 additional education points to go from 78 to 96 points and eighth place to solo fourth place and $750.

Kelowna Golf and Country Club's Rob Anderson also made a big move, going from a sixth-place tie to a fifth-place tie with seven education points taking him to 89 points and a tie with Jesse Crowe of the PGA of BC. Anderson and Crowe each take home $375.

Rounding out the top 10 are Chad Scott of The Harvest Golf Club at 85 points, Myles Johnson of Spallumcheen Golf & Country Club at 82 points and Mark Strong of Richmond Country Club and Tara Roden of Gallagher's Canyon Golf & Country Club at 71 points and a tie for ninth place.

The 2014 PDP race has already begun, with members already starting to accumulate education points. The Jan. 20 Education Series event at The Vancouver Golf Club is a prime opportunity for PGA of BC members to start collecting 2014 PDP points.

405 of the PGA of BC's 649 current members have registered at least one point in this year's PDP race.
