FAIRMONT HOT SPRINGS, BC (PGA of British Columbia) – Eleven participants in Tuesday’s PGA of BC Playing Ability Test (PAT) held at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort were successful in achieving their target scores.
Tuesday’s PAT featured 14 applicants attempting to record an 18-hole round at or below a predetermined score relative to course rating and based upon their age and gender, which is a requirement for non-exempt applicants to become a PGA of Canada Professional.
Applicable target scores for those participating were as follows:
- Males aged 49 & younger: 79
- Males aged 50 & older: 81
- Females aged 50 & older: 84
Congratulations to the following applicants who were successful in achieving their respective PAT target scores, listed alphabetically:

- Mei yuan Chen (Golf Mecca Junior Academy)
- Brad Elliott (Fairview Mountain Golf Club)
- Brett Emsland (Breaking Par Golf Academy)
- Cam Fergusson (Salt Spring Island Golf Club)
- Scott Merriam (Cranbrook Golf Club)
- Jack Nordquist (Windermere Valley Golf Course)
- Clay O’Dell (Northview Golf & Country Club)
- Brett Reeves (Spallumcheen Golf & Country Club)
- Gurkirat Singh (Victoria Academy of Golf)
- Burno Vieira (Tsawwassen Springs Golf)
By demonstrating their high standard of skill on the resort’s Riverside Course, the successful applicants took an important step toward achieving membership as an Apprentice Professional within the PGA of Canada.
