The BC Golf Hall of Fame has announced its Class of 2013 and it includes former PGA of BC member Sandy Harper.

Harper is inducted in the player’s category along with Jim Nelford, Doug Bajus and Lisa Walters. In the team category, the 1994 Dunhill Cup team of Dave Barr, Rick Gibson and Ray Stewart was also inducted.

Harper has a long and illustrious golf resume.

Harper won the PGA of BC Championship in both 1986 and 1989, the 1984 BC Open and the 1984 BC Match Play.

While his friends kid him for his height, Harper is able to literally laugh off those comments. At the 1984 BC Open presentation ceremony, Harper started his speech with: “No short jokes please.”

The BC Golf House Society will be hosting a celebration for these inductees on Oct. 24 at the Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club.
