Great discussions at Kelowna Education Series stop

Hillview Golf Course Head Professional Myles Johnson discusses the strategies that have helped build an exceptional junior culture at his facility during Tuesday's stop on the 2020 PGA of BC Education Series presented by Foresight Sports Canada at Gallagher's Canyon Golf Club.

MARCH 10, 2020

KELOWNA, BC (PGA of British Columbia) – More than three-dozen PGA of BC Professionals were treated to three informative talks Tuesday at Gallagher’s Canyon Golf Club during the Interior Region stop of the Association’s 2020 Education Series presented by Foresight Sports Canada.

In the penultimate edition of this year’s Education Series, members from across the region absorbed presentations covering fitness, instruction and junior-golf initiatives.

The day’s program began with The Business of You founder Sian Flanagan, who encouraged attendees to reflect on their fitness levels across all facets of their lives and introduced the group to the Vibrant Living Lifestyle Model.

She was followed by Clay Stothers, Director of Instruction at The Okanagan Golf Club, who touched on a number of ways to overcome common challenges when working with students on the lesson tee.

Closing out the schedule was Myles Johnson, Head Professional at Hillview Golf Course, who detailed some of the strategies that have created a tremendous junior culture at his Vernon facility.

Video recordings of all presentations will be made available on the PGA of BC Education Series Archive in the near future.

The Association would like to thank Foresight Sports Canada for its ongoing support of the Education Series and its commitment to providing professional-development opportunities for PGA of BC members.

Thanks also to Executive Professional Peter Hopley, Head Professional Lee Alarie and the entire team at Gallagher’s Canyon for their hospitality in hosting the event once again this year.

The final stop of the 2020 Education Series presented by Foresight Sports Canada is set for April 27 at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort. Visit the event page for full details and a link to registration.
