With a 70-foot putt on the 18th hole Sunday, Summerland Golf & Country Club's Greg Machtaler closed with a final round 62 to win his first PGA Tour Canada event at the Forces & Families Open. The tournament was contested August 7th-10th at Ottawa's Hylands Golf Club.
Greg becomes the first Canadian winner this season on the PGA Tour Canada circuit. The victory comes on the heels of a breakout 2013 season in PGA of BC events - Greg collected trophies at the PGA of BC Championship, Assistants' Championship, and Pro-Assistant Championship in addition to the Sani Marc Canada Cup.
