RICHMOND, B.C. - (January 5, 2011) - The Professional Golfers' Association of British Columbia announced today that Interim Operations Manager Donald Miyazaki, has been promoted to Interim Executive Director of the association.
"The PGA of British Columbia Board of Directors are very impressed with Mr. Miyazaki's efforts and leadership since joining the association. Since taking over as Interim Operations Manager, we are excited about the direction and energy put forth by the office staff. The team has worked hard in order to incorporate a new direction to our strategic plans that will benefit the members, sponsors, and industry partners for years to come. As a result of his efforts, we are proud to announce the expansion of Mr. Miyazaki's role to Interim Executive Director" says Keith Gibson, President of the PGA of British Columbia.
"We are going through a process to identify the needs of the association, while observing the process of how Donald handles a full operation and its responsibilities. We have learned a lot about Donald over the last seven weeks and feel he has earned the opportunity to prove himself for the upcoming year. At that point, the Board of Directors will be in a better position to evaluate the needs and outcomes desired for the PGA of British Columbia".
Prior to being the Interim Operations Manager, Miyazaki previously held the of Communications & Member Services Coordinator with the association. The change in role is effective immediately as is a one year interim position.
