The PGA of British Columbia and others within Canada’s golf community are mourning the passing of Stanley Golightly, Life Professional.
Golightly passed away Dec. 2 in Vancouver after more than 50 years spent as a proud PGA of Canada member. He was 93.
Originally from Ontario, Golightly’s career included tenures at acclaimed courses in his home province, including Scarboro Golf & Country Club, Lambton Golf & Country Club and Cedar Brae Golf Club. He measured and rated nearly 200 courses for Golf Ontario as well.
Golightly and his wife of 46 years, Joan, had been living near Vancouver’s University Golf Club for the past two years. He also leaves behind a stepdaughter and two grandchildren.
At Golightly’s request, no service was held and his internment is private. Donations in memoriam can be made to the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Junior Golf Association.
