SUMMERLAND SET TO HOST PRO-JUNIOR JULY 22

92 golfers will be teeing it up at the Summerland Golf & Country Club on July 22 for the Jack McLaughlin Memorial PGA of BC Pro-Junior Championship Presented by PING Golf.

This tournament features four-person teams consisting of one Head, Executive, Head Teaching Professional or Apprentice Professional and three junior members who are members of the club where the professional is employed. A valid PGA of BC Handicap Card with a minimum of ten scores posted in the current calendar year must be present at time of entry and registration. Junior members may not be older than 18 years of age at the time the Pro-Junior Championship is conducted.

Summerland head pro Tyrel Babkirk will have a team that he hopes will take the title from last year’s champion, Colin Lavers and his juniors from the Seymour Golf & Country Club in North Vancouver.

Also scheduled to compete are Lower Mainland teams from Beach Grove, two teams from the Redwoods, Point Grey, Morgan Creek, Richmond, Mayfair Lakes, Meadow Gardens and Ledgeview.

Also making a long trek to Summerland are teams from the Sunshine Coast Golf & Country Club and the Alberni Golf Club.

Interior golf club honours will be represented by teams from Penticton, Fairview Mountain, Rivershore, Sun Rivers, Vernon and two teams from the Kelowna Golf & Country Club.

The PGA of BC will be providing updates from Summerland via Twitter, Facebook and on our website at www.pgabc.org.
