Dave Zibrik of Westwood Plateau Golf Academy and Dan Swanson of Guildford Golf Course combine to win first Club Professional Series event of the year!
The first of the four OAKCREEK Golf & Turf / DSG Fleet Solutions PGA of BC Club Professional Series Presented by Golf Supply House was contested on Tuesday April 20th at Kings Links by the Sea.
This year's new format featured a random draw at lunch, which determined tee times and partners for the two-man best ball event. The much anticipated new format created a lot excitement, which did not disappoint in the first event.
Zibrik and Swanson carded a best ball score of eight-under 64 (sharing $650), two shots better than Mark Forrest of Peace Portal Golf Course and Murray Poje of Tsawwassen Springs Resort (sharing $400), who fired an impressive 66. Rounding out the top three was Muncie Booth of Langara Golf Course and PGA of BC President Derek Thornley of Richmond CC, who shot a one-under 71 and split $250.
The highlight of the event no doubt came from recently appointed Head Professional at Eaglequest Coyote Creek, Trevor Woynarski, who recorded his first Hole-in-One, with a 9-iron on the Par 3 13th hole. Congratulations Trevor and what a way to begin your Tournament career as a Head Professional!
The PGA of BC would like to thank OAKCREEK Golf & Turf, DSG Fleet Solutions and Golf Supply House for their support of the event. We would also like to thank Head Professional Andy Girling for hosting the great day. The course, food, drinks and service was second to none!
Don't miss the second event of the series taking place at Victoria Golf Club on June 27th (carpools can be arranged through the PGA of BC office). Registration forms to be available next week!
