Christina Lake Golf Club head professional Kevin Maffioli was named on Oct. 16 as the PGA of BC Golf Professional of the Year.

Maffioli, who oversees all operations at the club, helps organize the largest Men's Open Tournament in the province, with 240 players, and during the peak season, gives excellent directive to his staff of 45.

Maffioli also takes pride in mentoriing top quality junior golfers, including three juniors who are now playing college golf.

The club also runs a Junior Zone event annually, as well as a Junior Club Championship and and Adult/Junior tournament.

Another initiative Maffioli has been proud to champion is an annual Adult Beginner golf program with 80-plus participants. At least eight new members join seasonally for this affordable program which is only $70 for six golf lessons and a season range pass.

On the business side, Maffioli has helped take a break-even food and beverage operation and turn it into a substantial net profit operation.

Congratulations to Kevin for this award. He now goes up against other provincial winners in the National competition for Professional of the Year.
