RICHMOND, B.C. (PGA of BC) -- More than three-dozen member professionals were on hand for the PGA of British Columbia’s first Education Series event of 2017, which featured a trio of informative and engaging presentations at the Richmond Country Club on Monday.

Norman Baufeld of GolfTEC Vancouver demonstrated how he uses video and motion measurements to aid his clients’ games through building a fact-based improvement plan to set coaching direction.

He was followed by Doug Hastie, director of instruction at Bear Mountain Golf Resort, who divided attendees up into groups to discuss different methods of helping players at various skill and experience levels make changes to their game.

The final presentation came from Byron Cook and Paul Batchelor, who co-chaired the organizing committee for the CP Women’s Open when the tournament was hosted in 2012 and 2015 at the Vancouver Golf Club. The duo shared some of the successes, challenges and logistics of running the LPGA Tour event and fielded a number of thoughtful questions from the audience.

PGA of BC preferred partner Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks also provided a sampling of their distinctive and delicious beers, brewed in Richmond just down the road from the club.

Our next Education Series event will take place Tuesday, Feb. 7 at the Victoria Golf Club.
