RICHMOND, BC (PGA of British Columbia) – The PGA of BC is excited to announce a continued relationship with Srixon/Cleveland Golf/XXIO, which will remain a key contributor to the Association’s activities and initiatives for the next three years as a Gold-level Preferred Partner.
PGA of BC members have enjoyed tremendous support from Srixon/Cleveland Golf/XXIO dating back more than 20 years. The renewal of this partnership ensures that generous patronage will continue through the end of 2020.
“We are thrilled to extend our outstanding relationship with Srixon/Cleveland Golf/XXIO,” said Grant Gray, PGA of BC Business Development Manager. “Their ongoing investment into our programming and competitions benefits all members of the PGA of BC and British Columbia’s entire golf community.
“We could not be more excited to continue this affiliation into the next decade.”
During the period of the agreement, Srixon/Cleveland Golf/XXIO will remain title sponsor of the PGA of BC Club Professional Championship, a contributing partner and exclusive golf ball supplier for Canucks Junior Golf Week, and the presenting sponsor of the PGA of BC’s Candidate for Membership of the Year Award.
“We are excited to continue our partnership with the PGA of British Columbia for the next few years,” said Chris Risto, Srixon/Cleveland Golf/XXIO Vice-President of Sales and Marketing – Canada. “They have been a great partner and we look forward to an exciting year in 2018.”
The Srixon/Cleveland Golf/XXIO PGA of BC Club Professional Championship takes place each fall at an acclaimed British Columbia course, and is open for all Head, Executive and Head Teaching Professionals within the Association to compete for the Dick Munn Memorial Trophy over 36 holes of stroke play. The event’s reigning champion is Srixon staff player Philip Jonas (Philip Jonas Golf Academy).
The company’s continued contributions to Canucks Junior Golf Week are also a tremendous show of support for the game’s grassroots level in BC. This grow-the-game initiative has introduced thousands of youth to golf since its inception in 2014.
“Supporting the PGA of BC is one of our core business principles so we may align with their values: to actively promote enjoyment, participation and improvement in the game of golf,” said Risto. “Their efforts to grow the game with junior initiatives like Canucks Junior Golf Week tie in nicely with some of our efforts to grow our junior golf category.”
Those efforts on the youth-golf front include the recent launch of Cleveland Golf’s Junior Spec Wedges. With three options to suit any young player’s preference –the RTX-3, Cleveland CBX and Smart Sole 3 – the Junior Spec Wedges meet the standard that has made Cleveland Golf a global leader in wedge innovation and short-game technologies, providing the same scoring tools included in their main line offerings in a form to fit developing golfers.
Srixon/Cleveland Golf/XXIO remains a trusted brand for elite competitors as well, evidenced by the latest marquee players to join its professional tour staff.
Four-time major champion Ernie Els was unveiled as Global Ambassador for XXIO in January. As well, Canadian and two-time World Long Drive Champion Jamie Sadlowski, who made his PGA Tour debut last year and is a regular on the Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada, recently signed a multi-year deal to serve as a Global Ambassador for Cleveland Golf.
