KELOWNA, BC (PGA of British Columbia) -- Gallagher's Canyon Golf & Country Club was once again a fantastic setting for the PGA of BC Education Series presented by Foresight Sports Canada, with dozens of Association members attending Tuesday's Interior-region gathering.
The first of three great presentations delivered at the event came courtesy of Norman Baufeld (GolfTEC Vancouver), who drew on his extensive teaching experience to highlight how to deliver efficient instruction for students.
He was followed by Sean Richardson (The Harvest Golf Club), the 2018 recipient of the PGA of BC Jack Westover Coach of the Year Award. Richardson's talk focused on building players who are complete athletes to prepare them for competition.
The final talk of the event belonged to David Cram, a professor in the Okanagan College School of Business. Cram, known for teaching one of Canada's first post-secondary courses on the economic impacts of legalized cannabis, covered off the many considerations golf facilities have now that updated marijuana legislation is in effect.
Thank you to each of our presenters and attendees, as well as host Executive Professional Peter Hopley, Head Professional Lee Alarie and the entire time at Gallagher's Canyon for helping to make this another great stop on the Education Series. The Association would also like to acknowledge Foresight Sports Canada for its support of the series, and to Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks for providing a post-event tasting.
The final event of this year's Education Series takes place April 29 at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort, featuring presentations from Kootenay-region Head Professionals Cindy Soukoroff and Scott McClain. Visit the event page for full details and to register.
