The PGA of British Columbia and others within Canada’s golf community are mourning the passing of long-time PGA of BC member and Teaching Professional, Norm Jarvis.
Jarvis passed away peacefully on August 7th in Surrey, BC after more than 40 years spent as a member of the PGA of Canada. He was 70.
Originally born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Jarvis was well-known for his warm heart in additional to a career built around his exceptional skills on the golf course. Included in his list of accomplishments are titles at the 1984 PGA of BC Championship, 1988 Canadian Club Professional Championship, and 2010 & 2018 PGA of BC Seniors’ Championships. Early in his career as a PGA of Canada member, Jarvis also found himself competing on a variety of tours throughout North America.
Jarvis and his wife of 40+ years, Diane, had been living in Surrey, BC where Jarvis taught at several nearby facilities over the course of his career. Included with these were Sunshine Woods Golf Course, Nico Wynd Golf Course, Delta Golf Centre, and Eaglequest Golf Centre at Coyote Creek. He leaves behind his sons Chris and Matthew, and daughter, Danielle in addition to four granddaughters, Mila Jarvis, Celine Savioz, Tess Savioz, and Jolene Jarvis.
He is also survived by his mother, Eileen, and brothers Kevin, Rory, Greg, John, and sisters Randi and Andree.
