Doug began playing golf at the age of 12 yrs old at the Fredericton Golf & Curling Club. His golfing experience has taken him to Europe, United States and throughout Canada. Doug started his professional career in 1995 at Glen Meadows Golf & Curling Club in Victoria. He has worked at the much respected Gorge Vale Golf Club in Victoria and at the Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed Rivershore Golf Links in Kamloops where he worked as an academy instructor for 3 years. 5 years of being Head Professional at Trickle Creek Golf Resort in Kimberley BC - St. Eugene Golf Resort and Casino for 5 years total and at the Gary Player Design Wildstone Golf Course for one season.
Doug believes in his experiences as an athlete, which helped him to become a professional golfer. His aim is to teach more than just the fundamentals and mechanics by focusing on the student as an individual. Each has their own swing and he will work to develop their own natural swing. “I believe in focusing on what the student is doing right which gets them in a better frame of mind for learning. This helps to reduce the “What am I doing wrong syndrome?”” Doug will personalize your lesson plan to work with your learning style, physical ability and personal goals.
