Why did you become a PGA of Canada Professional? 
To help grow the game I love playing.

What is the most rewarding part about being a member of the PGA of BC? 
That we are leaders in our industry.

At which golf facility did you first begin working within the industry, and who was the PGA Professional? 
Arbutus Ridge Golf Club, Craig Rencher.

Who has influenced your career the most, and how? 
Scott Kolb; he has helped me many times with his advice and showed me how valuable our profession is to the golf industry.

What career path led you to where you are today? 
I was in the logging industry for years and part of the IWA union. The union found me a job building trails. On the last trail I was working on, my boss told me about the forest industry being willing to retrain me to get me out. I had grown up playing golf with my family but not really seriously until I decided to enroll in the Golf Management Program at Camosun College. While in the program, I signed up for the Co-Op program and they found me a job at Arbutus Ridge Golf Club, which was 24 years ago.

Which significant accomplishments are you most proud of? 
I have been awarded the Junior Golf Leader of the Year for the Island twice. There is nothing like being recognized by peers with so many fellow Professionals growing the game.

If you had to share one piece of advice with a new member of our Association, what would it be? 
Try to find yourself a mentor to help guide you with you career.

What is your most cherished golf memory? 
Playing Torrey Pines for the first time with my dad.

What is your favourite golf course in British Columbia, and why? 
Arbutus Ridge is my favorite course because I have been able to work there for so long. Also, it is where I made my first hole-in-one with my oldest son, Justin.

What is a common misconception that golfers make about what your job entails? 
That I get to play a lot of golf or I golf every day.
