Brian McDonald has been both a proud member of the PGA of BC and PGA of Canada since 1993. He is currently serving as both the General Manager and Director of Golf Operations at Fairview Mountain Golf Club. During his tenure at Fairview Mountain,the golf club has twice been named the PGA of BC Golf Facility of the Year and Brian himself has been recognized for excellence within his field by his peers, receiving the following awards/honors: 1999 PGA of BC Assistant of the year, 2003 PGA of BC Merchandiser of the year, 2004 PGA of BC Head Golf Professional of the Year, 2004 PGA of Canada Head Golf Professional of the Year, 2004 Score Golf Club Professional of the Year, as well as winning the 2018 PGA Head Professional Championship of Canada.

Why did you become a PGA of Canada Professional?
My interest in the game and the business side of golf.
What is the most rewarding part about being a member of the PGA of BC?
The relationships I've built over a long career.

Who has influenced your career the most, and how?
Brad Burgart, who demonstrated the importance of leadership by example.
What career path led you to where you are today?
My family's background in golf.
Which significant accomplishments are you most proud of?
Getting our club reopened after a massive landslide and leading the recovery effort.
If you had to share one piece of advice with a new member of our Association, what would it be?
Put in the work. People always notice those making the effort to get better and grow within their profession.
What is your most cherished golf memory?
Winning the 2018 PGA of Canada Head Professional Championship and being so supported by my fellow PGA of BC pros.
What is your favourite golf course in British Columbia, and why?
Talking Rock GC - great, fun layout.
What is a common misconception that golfers make about what your job entails?
Playing lots of golf.
